Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor who is well-known for his role in the popular television show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. The first time he became interested in acting was when he was in college. He completed his acting studies at University of Colorado at Boulder. He has appeared in both the television and film industry, but it was his smaller-screen roles which earned him fame and an extensive audience. It is no surprise that he has been able grab people's attention with his characters who are on either sides of the law. The first show he worked on was a television show, however, he was later a detective for the NYPD. In recognition of his performance in the small screen, he's won many times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards. It is his trademark piercing, blue eyes which are said to make him look handsome. They've helped him portray tough characters in a charming style. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
