Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood in the West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" location. People unfamiliar with the term often think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal although in actual fact, it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay there was short. Brugel lived in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. She was determined to become professional, however due to a rapid expansion, she outgrew every one of her dance friends. In an article released by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall while wearing heels. After I outgrew my male companions, I stopped. Former dancers often turn to acting, and Brugel was not an exception. An instructor in drama in her high school was able to push Bruce in the direction she wanted to go in. It was suggested that she try out for roles in her school's production. Following a trial it, she was cast as the leading lady on stage in Anne of Green Gables. It led to an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program which she graduated with A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. For the last twenty years, Brugel's career has seen her appear in over 60 movies and TV productions. The most well-known role was that of Rita (shown here) in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor to appear in Season 1 which was only seen occasionally.
