Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community situated on the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. For those who don't know, the West Island frequently think that it's a separate island off the coast of Montreal but in fact the West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. However, this isn't the case. Brugel was raised in Courtice near Oshawa in Ontario. The first goal she had was to dance but a growth spurt meant that she was able to outgrow her dance partners. The article she wrote about her experience revealed that was published in The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. Once I had outgrown my male dancers, I quit. The former dancers usually turn to acting, and Brugel was no exception. A drama teacher at her high school pushed Brugel in her direction that she required. The teacher was the one who encouraged her to try out to play the character of Anne in their annual school production. Following a trial the role, she was chosen as the leading lady in Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program which she graduated with A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Over the past 20 years since Brugel has landed roles in more than 60 productions across both screens, receiving the greatest attention when she landed the role of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and only appeared at times.
