Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 from February 27, 2010 to Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small community that is located in the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. Most people who do not know they mistakenly believe"the" West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually the West Island includes everything westward of that city Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there although her time within the city was brief. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice near Oshawa located in Ontario. Her first ambition was to become performing, but she simply outgrew her dancing partners. The article she wrote about her experience revealed published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. Once I outgrew male partners I stopped. Some former dancers switch to acting. In the case of Brugel it was the nudge of one of her drama teachers at the high school which pushed her towards the right path. Her teacher encouraged her to try out to play the character of Anne in the school's annual production. After a few auditions the role, she was chosen as the lead actress for Anne of Green Gables. It led to a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. For the last two decades she has had her in more than 60 films and television productions. The role she was most famous for was as Rita (shown beneath) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor to appear in the season 1 and appeared only on occasion.
