Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area located in The West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" location. People who aren't familiar with about the place mistakenly think that the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact it is the West Island includes everything westward from the city of Lachine. There is an argument that it was the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay there was short. Brugel lived in Courtice in the town of Oshawa. Initial plans were to be an actor, however she was able to outgrow her dancers. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was 6 foot 1 inch tall. Once I outgrew male partners I quit. For Brugel, it was the advice of the drama instructor at her high school, which prompted her to pursue acting. Her teacher advised her to audition for the role of Anne in the school's annual production. She threw herself into it and ended up playing the role of the main character in Anne of Green Gables. The show was a recipient of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program in 2000. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Over the past 20 years since then, Brugel was offered roles in over 60 shows on the small and big screens receiving the most media attention, when she landed the role of Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actor in Season 1 and was only seen at times.
