Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet community within the West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" location. The people who aren't familiar with this term often think that it's a separate island off the coast of Montreal however, this part of West Island is home to everything from Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. There is an argument that it was the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay at the island was infrequent. Brugel grew in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. The first goal was to become performing, but she simply outgrew her dancing partners. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. Once I had outgrown my male friends, I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting, which is what Brugel did. An instructor in drama at her high school pushed her in her direction that she required. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to take on a part in the annual school production. The teacher who suggested that she pursue a role in the school's annual production. The show led her to receive being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program which she graduated with an Associate in Fine Arts degree in 2000. Over the past 20 years since then, Brugel has been offered roles in more than 60 productions on the big and small screens drawing the most attention when she was cast as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian actor for Season 1 of the series and not seen much.
